in case you missed it..

i did this post for "how does she" last friday and it's gotten lots of good response. so, just in cased you missed it, here it is :)

p.s.  it works great for ALL types of hair!

1. Dampen your hair with a spray bottle or let it semi air dry after washing it.

As you can tell, I have a lot of wave to my hair, but this works for all hair types!

2. Part your hair into four sections. They don’t have to be sectioned perfectly. Tie them off to keep them separated from each other. Spray each section lightly with hair spray.

3. Start twisting your hair in the direction you want your curl to be. I twisted mine away from my face. Keep twisting until it tightens to the point it starts to coil on its own.

4. Coil it into a tight bun and then use bobby pins to keep it in place.

5. Blow your hair until it’s dry. The longer you dry it, the tighter your curl will be.

6. Undo the bobby pins and take your buns out of their coil.

7. Separate your curls using your fingers and then scrunch to add some body.

8. You’re finished! Lightly spray with hair spray then you’re good to go!

Something to keep in mind is, obviously, the wetter your hair is to begin with, the longer it takes to dry. The longer you dry the “buns” the tighter the curls will be. This is great for a nice tight curl look! If you have shorter hair, it works better to use more sections. If you have curly/wavy hair, it works best to make your “buns” as tight as possible and dry them for a little longer.

Give it a try! It’s quick and easy! For a girl who regularly spends over an hour to curl her hair, this is a nice time saver!

Do you have any tips on how this will work on your hair type?

relief society

 spring is springing!

i miss you sister.

i love the relief society! we moved into a new ward, and the sisters have been great. i went to the RS birthday last night and got to mingle with everyone. they played a little game called "do you know" where random questions were asked about the sisters and you'd guess who the question was about. anyways, one question was asked "do you know who used to ride their horse on fairview before it was a street?" it was guessed correctly, that a sister who is in her 80's used to ride her horse on fairview. the 80 yr. old sister asked how someone guessed it was her. the one who guessed replied that the 80 yr. old was the only one old enough who could have been around before it was a street. the 80 yr. old then stood up, pumped out her chest and put her arms out and said "you wanna take this outside?" i laughed and laughed, and i'm still laughing thinking about it. maybe you just had to be there..

happy day

and this would be my sister...

making fun of me a little bit..

sometimes i think to myself that life couldn't get any better. but then it does. of course i've had my down days, but truly, life is so good. i feel exceptionally happy today for no apparent reason. could just be that spring is around this corner and that i see flowers a bloomin'. could be that i had golden grahams for breakfast. could be that business is going well for tanner and i. could be the cat next door that always greets me when i go outside (and i don't even like cats, but this one is an exception) could be this beautiful 'album leaf' music i'm listening to. could be all the fun painting projects i have sitting in my kitchen. could just be that i've noticed how blessed i am. i don't know, but i hope that all of you have a happy day! it feels good!

st. patricks weekend

there is nothing better in the world than having a sister. okay, there is nothing better in the world than having crystal as my sister. we laughed until we couldn't breathe, talked until we fell asleep, and even cried together this weekend. i love her so much.
so, i've never cared too much for st. paticks day but crystal loves it so i really wanted to make it fun for her. we made sugar cookies and then took them up to mccall. we spent the night at the cottage and had home made hot chocolate and 3 leaf clover pancakes with green whip cream for breakfast. crystal tried snowboarding for her first time and she was awesome! i have never seen someone catch on so quick. video to come..
we came back to boise saturday night and showed crystal around the city. we settled on mexican food for dinner because, you can't get anymore irish than that, right?
hope you all had a great st. patty's day!

stolen sunday

how perfect are these scarves?! when i was at the tradeshow a month ago, i couldn't help but stop by this booth. i thought they were so cute and cozy!

this cute girl, jacy ceccarelli, is the owner, with the dubbed title of a scarfiologist!
here's some interesting info about this company..

Stolen Sunday is a young company based out of San Francisco. We launched in the early summer of 2011 with awesome success at the Outside Lands music festival. Since then the momentum behind the company has been unstoppable. It seems like every week we are in new stores and we are lucky to have an awesome an interested crew of scarf and scoodie lovers who support us. It seems like people are ready to get behind the carefree fashion and fun-loving vibe that Stolen Sunday embodies.

Creating radical clothing is one of our goals at Stolen Sunday, the other is to do it the right way, and we are proud to be an American-made company through and through. Everything we sell is made in San Francisco and we exclusively source American knit fabrics. We are proud to think we are helping to create jobs in our community.

Stolen Sunday is owned by 25 year old Jacy Ceccarelli - a self titled scarfologist. Jacy didn't go to fashion school or business school, but when she moved to San Francisco she decided she wanted to create something that reflected both her personality and that of San Francisco. And Stolen Sunday was born.

Stolen Sunday's products are urban, funky, comfortable and just really good looking. Jacy wants fashion to be fun, empowering and accessible to any and everyone. Her design goal is that when somebody throws on a Stolen Sunday scoodie (scarf-hoodie) that they will feel like a superhero... unstoppable, beautiful, a little weird and wild, and ready to take on the world!

wedding survey

hi! two posts in one day?! why yes.. and what is so important?

this easy peasy survey! if you have 2 minutes to spare, it would be very helpful!

https://qtrial.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_3WtvZqzjsOxq4yE

my friend abbigail otteson's husband is attending TCU and in a few weeks, and will be competing in a national Values and Ventures Business Plan Competition at TCU with her little start up business plan.

the business has adopted the “good returns” business model from a company called Soap Hope. her printable stationery company will invest 100% of its profits every year, for the full year, into anti-poverty non-profits. these organizations will use her funds to then issue small business loans to women in poverty, training them how to start and run their own small businesses.

thanks!
