2 years of marriage

i woke up to chocolates, roses, and the sweetest card. this was followed by a very long day at the trade show. we made up for that by having the best sushi dinner fit for kings! and now, tanner is making me get off the computer to go to sleep....

on saturday

 i wanted to take a picture of the shark eating tanners head but a little girl came up to me when i snapped the photo and this is what i got. he LOVES kids and lights up when they're around.

 floral over kill

we made it to vegas this afternoon! we listened to "catching fire" on the drive down and it went by pretty quick. it was crazy to have nearly 70 degree weather yesterday in utah and then to wake up to snow! i thought i was used to utah weather, but it seems to trick me all the time. 

well, we set up the booth tonight and it looks great! i can't wait to share some pictures of the show! tomorrow is also our 2 year anniversary. i think i'll spare the mushy stuff that no one truly cares to read and just say, i love tanner. 

we spent saturday in provo and went to the byu basketball game and then to the riverwoods. while we were there we checked out one of the stores (called to surf) that carries proofs sunglasses. it was awesome to see they were almost sold out! they also had a lot of really cute floral clothes that i wish i had some mula for. i'll stick to my clearance rack at ross for now. i love floral right now and think i'll be adding a lot to my wardrobe soon :) how was your weekend?

We're so excited Darlene asked us to post today. Isn't she the cutest thing ever? Well we are Madison and Lauren, aka Awkward Girls. On our blog we like to talk about fashion, friendship, food and fun.

On the agenda today is Valentine's Day Outfit advice. We love this because whether you have a boo, or are just gonna party it up with your ladies (Singles Awareness Day, anyone?), Valentine's Day is the perfect day to get dressed up. Here's a little taste of what we'll be wearing:

It's not Valentine's Day without a little bit (or a lot bit) of pink, right? And black is always a classy choice. However, pink and black can easily turn into Avril Lavigne punk rock princess, so be sure to class it up with some sophisticated pearls and heels.

If the pink dress is a little too bold, try for something a softer like this romantic lace dress. And since it's Valentine's Day, why not throw in a bright red pop of color?

blue man

we are going to las vegas on sunday for magic's fashion trade show. i was getting in the mood by wearing my blue, very blue pants today. we will be there over our anniversary (2 years!) and valentines. we are trying to decide going to a show or dinner.. it's pretty spendy down there. i think we made up our minds to go to the "tournament of the kings." super romantic right? but, it's something we've both wanted to do for a long time. and this way we get dinner AND a show! this will be our third time going to this show for the proof sunglasses and it's a lot of fun! can't wait!

the hunting of the house

i noticed that i talk about food a lot in my posts.. i'm sorry about that. i guess it's always on my mind. i looked at my recipe board on pinterest and it mostly consisted of pasta and desserts. i think i need to expand my horizons a little bit. i will try talking about other topics starting tonight, such as house hunting. i have so much fun looking at houses and fantasizing how i would decorate the inside and what i would plant in the yard. these fantasies get crushed by finding out they have been taken. this has been the story of our lives. who knew it would be such a long process! we finally got on a daily update list that will send us the most recent houses on the market. and hopefully we will be in one soon! oh the joys in life.

over the weekend

over the weekend we met with our chilean friends at chandlers steak house. we don't even eat at fancy places for special occasions soooo we both ordered a salad. our meal still cost more then usual at any other restaurant. after the steak house, we met up with shane and india to go bowling and we were still pretty hungry. that burger and fries you see right there is one of the best burger and fries i've ever had. bowling alley food always seems to be good. it could be due to the extra grease, i don't know. as you can tell, friday night was fun. on saturday i went to a bridal show to do some videography networking. i'm glad i went and i made some great contacts. and on sunday i did what every american did. i fell asleep during the game.

valentines day

i'm over at howdoesshe  today showing off this cute little number i got for my honeymoon cruise. i thought i'd be perfect to wear again for valentines day since pastels and pinks are in this season.

bottomless pit

during my workout last night, i started to feel really fatigued. i couldn't stop thinking about food and i wanted/needed it right now. i had already eaten dinner but i felt like i hadn't eaten in days. the second we got home i finished off the remainder of the baguette we had with dinner. i soaked that bad boy into balsamic vinegar and for some reason this made me crave oreos. we didn't have any, but i was saved by some cookies and cream ice cream. without shame, i sat in front of the tv and finished off the carton. THEN i found a symphony candy bar and knocked that out. king size i might add. washed it all down with milk and then went to bed. 

i slept like an angel.

i'm officially a graduate of byu-idaho! technically, i should have graduated last april. tanner received his diploma a few months ago and i just assumed that mine got sent to my parents. my parents told me they hadn't seen it but they also recently moved and i thought it would turn up. finally tanner told me to call the school just to make sure it got sent. well, it didn't. and well, they said i still had ONE credit to complete. this was quite frustrating and i didn't want to pay for an online class. there is no way i could have mis-counted my credits and classes. i went to my adviser so many times just to make sure everything was on track. there weren't any problems before i got my gown, walked and everything. i was confused to say the least. anyways, an angel from byu-idaho got the credit waived because she found a class i took for fun but didn't count toward my major, and decided to use that class as my one credit. i felt as releived as i did when i took my last final.
my diploma finally came in the mail today and now i want to throw my cap in the air again!

the moving man

 the other day a friend of mine told me i'm always doing fun things. i agreed with her. but it also got me thinking of all the things i may take advantage of at times. just about every weekend we're going away somewhere, even if it's just mccall. i really noticed it when i had a job and i was constantly trying to get shifts covered or i'd ask for time off.  i've also realized i'm more of a home body then i thought. i really enjoy doing fun things, but i also enjoy just being at home. tanner on the other hand can't stay put. if we are home for more than three weeks, he starts itching to get away somewhere. anywhere. this keeps things exciting and interesting in our relationship. i've seen more places in the last two years then most people see in their lifetime. and i'm very grateful for that.
